How to Make Meditation a Way of Living

Empowerment RadioScience has proven that meditating on a regular basis is extremely beneficial for our mental and physical health and well-being. Sounds great, right!. But have you, like many others, struggled with learning how to meditate?

When I first tried meditating at age eighteen, I thought there was nothing to it. All I needed to do was lie down, close my eyes, and after a few moments, I would float into that blissful nirvana I’d heard others talk about. Unfortunately, one of two things seemed to get in the way: either I fell asleep after a few minutes or my mind started to insist on presenting me with a long list of things I hadn’t done yet, the miserable failures of the past, or the unsolvable problems ahead of me.

Then I came across a book written by a Buddhist monk, who shared that he most effectively meditates while doing the dishes. This was the first time I came across the notion, that meditation can be more than just sitting for 15 minutes on a pillow, trying to wrestle your mind into submission.

What if we could learn to integrate meditation into our daily activities? Could we then enjoy a better and more stress-free quality of life and still get a lot done?
